Why hire the Civic Centre
You can hire our public meeting rooms at the Civic Centre. They are ideal for conferences, seminars, meetings and training sessions.

- Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the Civic Suite
- Additional equipment may be available for use with any room such as laptop, screen, flipchart etc. Please enquire at the time of booking

Council Chamber

- Formal layout seating up to 100 (please note tables are fixed and cannot be moved)
- Air-conditioned

Council Chamber hire charges
Morning (8am to 1pm): £135+VAT
Afternoon (1pm to 6pm): £135+VAT
Evening (6pm to 10pm): £269+VAT
All day (8am to 10pm): £473.00+VAT
Committee Room

- Multi purpose room.
- Ideal for training, seminars, lectures or exhibitions
- Capable of seating up to 80 theatre style or a maximum of 50 around tables (cabaret style)
- Remote controlled overhead projector
- Audio video facilities
- Table sizes in the Committee Room are 6' x 3'.

Morning (8am to 1pm): £67+VAT
Afternoon (1pm to 6pm): £67+VAT
Evening (6pm to 10pm): £135+VAT
All day (8am to 10pm): £239+VAT
Conservatory

- Bright and light
- Seating up to 30 theatre style or 20 around tables
- Air-conditioned
- Ideal for exhibitions, informal meetings, luncheons etc
- Table sizes in the Conservatory are 6' x 3'.

Morning (8am to 1pm): £53+VAT
Afternoon (1pm to 6pm): £53+VAT
Evening (6pm to 10pm): £107+VAT
All day (8am to 10pm): £189+VAT
Showell Room
- Smaller sized meeting room
- Capable of seating up to 12 persons
- Ideal for break out room or less formal discussions

Car parking
There are Pay and Display car parks around the Civic Centre and charges apply during the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday. At all other times parking is free.
Booking form and conditions of use
Before booking you should be aware of the following:
- All charges are subject to periodic revision. Those shown are from 1 April 2019.
- A 50% reduction may be available for cultural, education or charitable non-profit making organisations.
- All setting up and clearing up time is chargeable.
- A surcharge may be levied for late night bookings.
- If a booking starts or extends beyond the normal session time then additional charges will be levied as follows:
- For any hours after 10.00pm and before 8.00am the next morning, charges will be at the equivalent of twice the evening hourly rate for each or part of each hour.
- For any additional hours between 8.00am and 10.00pm the charges at quarter of the appropriate sessional rate for each or part of each hour will become payable.
- Damage deposits will be required in appropriate instances.
Please note, the Council operates a smoke free site at the Civic Centre. Smoking is not permitted within the Civic Suite, the surrounding buildings or gardens. View Smoking Policy Map (the no smoking area is edged by the blue line).
