The secrets of a fascinating archaeological site in Broadway are set to go on show to the public.
Worcestershire Archaeology is holding a Milestone Ground Archaeology Open Afternoon on Friday, 31 October from 2pm to 6pm at the Lifford Hall in Broadway. The event will give visitors a glimpse into the exciting discoveries made during 14 months of excavation work at Milestone Ground. Wychavon funded the work before the sale of the land for a mixed housing and sports development.
While Broadway is known today as the picturesque gateway to the Cotswolds, initial findings suggest our ancestors may have considered the village an even more significant settlement.
As well as learning more about recent archaeological works, visitors will also be able to see some of the artefacts that shed light on the area’s rich heritage from early prehistory through to the Anglo-Saxon era.
