Changes to High Street Car Park Droitwich Spa

From Monday 28 October, Waitrose will be taking over the management of the High Street Car Park in Droitwich Spa.

Users of this car park will no longer need to buy a ticket from a machine. Instead ANPR cameras will register cars entering and leaving the car park.

Waitrose customers making purchases of £10 or more will be given a voucher for one hour of free parking, they then enter at the payment machine. The car park isn’t just for Waitrose customers though and can be used for visiting the High Street, Vines Park, town events etc.

You will need to pay at the payment machine before leaving the car park.

Charges

  • 50p for 30 minutes
  • 1 hour for £1
  • 3 hours for £2

The maximum stay is three hours. There will be a 15 minute grace period for people who are picking up and dropping off.

Ricketts Lane Car Park (opposite the High Street Car Park) remains a pay and display car park controlled by Wychavon.

Hours of operation

  • Monday to Saturday - 9am to 5pm
  • Sunday - free of charge

How to pay

You pay for parking when you leave the car park. Payment machines only accept card payments. If you want to pay by Ringo mobile app or with cash please use the Rickett's Lane Car Park opposite the High Street Car Park or one of the other Wychavon pay and display car parks.

Details of how the system works can be found below:

  • When you arrive in the car park the ANPR cameras will register your vehicle number plate.
  • You park up and then go and do whatever you need to do whether that's shopping in Waitrose, making use of the shops and services on the High Street, visiting Vines Park or enjoying one of Droitwich's many events.
  • When you are ready to leave visit the payment terminal and enter your registration number. It will tell you how long you have parked for and how much you have to pay (remember the maximum stay is three hours)
  • If you have been shopping in Waitrose and have spent £10 or more you will have been given a voucher. Type/scan the voucher's details into the machine and you will have an hour of free parking deducted from your charge. If you have parked for less than an hour you will have nothing to pay. If you have parked for more than an hour, you just need to pay the extra.
  • If you haven't shopped in Waitrose, or made a qualifying purchase, then you just pay the charge shown. 
  • Return to your vehicle and exit the car park. The system will register you have left and paid the correct charge.

Blue badge holders using High Street Car Park

If you are a blue badge holder, whether you are using Waitrose or not, you must register your badge and vehicle at the welcome desk in store the first time you use the High Street Car Park on or after 28 October 2024. You only need to register each vehicle once.

Once registered you will then be able to park for three hours for free per day. When your badge renews, you will need to remember to update your details in store. If using the car park in a different car for the first time, you will also need to update your details in store.
