Public Toilets
Service update:
Due to vandalism, the female toilets at Church Walk, Pershore have been temporarily closed whilst we await repairs. There are alternative provisions at High Street, Car Park (ASDA). We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Public Toilets
Our public toilets are managed by our Client Services department and private contractors carry out all toilet cleaning (Mitie Cleaning).
Six of Wychavon's toilets have been awarded the highest honour of the much sought-after diamond award. Only toilets which demonstrate the highest standard of cleaning and provide specialist facilities for babies, children and those with various disabilities have this distinction. The other nine facilities were given Platinum Plus or Platinum Awards. We have also been the proud recipient of the Local Authority Public Toilets of the Year for three consecutive years (2022, 2023 and 2024).

Changing Places Toilets
Changing Places toilets are larger accessible toilets for people with complex care needs, with equipment such as hoists, curtains, adult-sized changing benches and space for carers.
Wychavon District Council believes in dignity for all and we have invested heavily in delivering Changing Place toilets across the district. Currently, seven of our 11 public toilet facilities have a Changing Places toilet. They are located in the following locations:

Free period products
Wychavon has launched a trial programme to provide free period products in public toilets across the district.
More than one in five people who menstruate in the UK struggle to afford period products. This initiative, in partnership with charity Hey Girls, aims to end period poverty and remove the stigma around menstruation.
Wychavon wishes to emphasise the importance of shifting from ‘period poverty’ to ‘period dignity.’ The aim is to promote a positive message and empower women while tackling stigma. Recent data show that 2.8 million people in the UK struggle to afford period products, often resorting to unsuitable alternatives, and the cost-of-living crisis has exacerbated this issue, forcing families to make tough choices between fundamental necessities.
Wychavon is offering free, eco-friendly period products made from sustainable bamboo and organic cotton in vending machines located in all female toilets, aligning with the Council’s commitment to addressing climate emergency challenges.
This initiative, funded by the Household Support Fund, will continue if the trial is successful.
